Now New PAN Card Applicants Can Download e-PAN Free of Cost; Check Complete Procedure Here
The Income Tax (IT) department now allows PAN card holders to use soft and hard copies as ID proofs. An order issued by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) stated that both the e-PAN (electronically issued PAN cards) & physical PAN cards have to be treated at par.

At present, there are two bodies i.e. NSDL-TIN (National Securities Depository Limited) & UTI-ITSL (UTI Infrastructure Technology And Services Limited) that are authorised by the IT department to issue PAN cards to people. Both the bodies let PAN card holders download e-PANs from their official websites.
People who have applied for a new PAN card can download their e-PAN free of cost whereas others will have to submit a nominal price of Rs.8.26.

If you have applied for a fresh PAN or made some changes in PAN card details through UTI-ITSL then you can download a PDF of e-PAN card by sharing your PAN along with date of birth from this website - https://www.myutiitsl.com/PAN_ONLINE/ePANCard.
PAN card holders will receive the link for downloading their e-PAN in PDF form from this portal free of cost only if their e-PAN was issued within last 1 month's time on their new PAN application or change or correction request.
You will further be sent a link to your registered mobile number and email id along with an OTP to download the e-PAN. Remember that the link can be used only 3 times and that too within a period of 1 month.

In the same way, National Securities Depository Limited also allows people to download their e-PAN free of cost from its website - https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/MPanLogin.html in the last 30 days. PAN card applicants will have to provide the acknowledgement number of the PAN card application to download e-PAN.
