It means, now you will not have to visit the Passport Service Center, which is usually far from your place, to fly abroad with a passport. You can apply at your nearest post office and get your passport within 15 days.

This good news is for those who are planning to get a new passport. People can now visit their nearest India Post Office to get a new passport. It means, now you will not have to visit the Passport Service Center, which is usually far from your place, to fly abroad with a passport. You can apply at your nearest post office and get your passport within 15 days.

Earlier, one had to apply for a passport at the Passport Service Centre, which is operated across the country by Ministry of External Affair. However, now you can easily complete the process of documentation for your passport from your nearest post office.

Apply online for Passport

You have to register yourself & apply online for a passport. You can easily register on the official website of Post Office. After successfully applying, you have to pay for the registration fees for creating your passport. After the successful online registration, you will get a date for physical verification of documents at your nearby post office.

Documents required for Passport

  • Birth Certificate

  • High School Marksheet

  • Voter ID

  • PAN Card

  • Aadhar Card/Ration Card

You will have to take theses documents for the verification process, you will also have to submit an affidavit made from the notary.

During the documentation process, the officers will verify your fingerprint & retina scan. And, once the process of documentation is complete, then your passport will be delivered to your home with Fifteen Days.
