One-Day Livestock Health Camp Organized by MPUAT and Animal Husbandry Department, Udaipur

Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, and the Animal Husbandry Department, Udaipur jointly organised a one-day livestock health campon May 24, 2024 in Smart Village Brahmanon Ki Hunder. At the start of the program, Dr. R.A. Kaushik, Director of Extension Education, welcomed all the guests and encouraged the adoption of new agricultural technology and innovations developed by the university in Smart Villages Madar and Brahmanon Ki Hunder. The main objective of this camp was to raise awareness among livestock owners about animal health.

Dr. Siddharth Mishra, Head of the Animal Production Department at Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur, highlighted animal management practices, emphasizing the importance of including mineral mixtures in animal feed. This inclusion can lead to higher milk production and improve the physical health of animals. He also provided information on the treatment of infertility in animals.

Dr. Yogesh Baroliya, Veterinary Officer, Badi, Udaipur, explained how to protect animals during the summer and provide them with an appropriate environment to prevent adverse health effects. He emphasized the necessity of proper vaccination against diseases prevalent in the summer, and informed that the department would conduct door-to-door vaccination against Lumpy Skin Disease in the coming week.

During the camp, Dr. Datradey Chaudhary, Veterinarian, Badgaon, Udaipur, elaborated on the objectives of the program and provided a brief overview of common animal diseases and their prevention. He mentioned that 180 large animals were treated and vaccinated against hemorrhagic septicemia. Additionally, 305 goats were dewormed, benefiting 205 livestock owners.

Dr. R.S. Rathore, Smart Village Coordinator, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur, conducted the program. He concluded by thanking all attendees and provided a brief overview of the control measures for external and internal parasites in animals.
