Organic Mahotsav - Day 3 of Event at Udaipur

Organic Mahotsav 2019 is the 7th in series of the popular biennial conventions held by the Organic Farming Association of India. The event is being held in Udaipur (Rajasthan) at Shilpgram from 29th November to 1st December, 2019. The convention provides a platform for organic farmers from all over India to share, learn and grow. Renowned farmers, scientists, policy makers, seed savers, innovators come together to bring the developments in organic farming to a common platform – the ultimate goal being growth of our farmers while also replenishing our natural resources. Renowned and well-known organic practitioners and guests from all over India and abroad are participating in this Grand Mahotsav. Day 3 starts on Sunday December 1, 2019.

An agenda is already been prepared and speakers have been allotted times in the order in which they are to be taken up from beginning. The first in the series of talks and discussions in the morning will have various speakers like Minhaj Ameen  focussing on Rainfed Agriculture - Key to achieving food and nutrition security, Suresh Desai on Hortipuncture farming, Kalyan Paul on Adoption of value chains for enhancing incomes for small farmers – from farms to fingers, Benson Issac on Theater of Oppressed, Kumud Dadlani on Farming Miracles around the world, Organic Certification of handloom textiles- will be a Round Table Discussion. There will be a  Film Festival also on the third day of the Organic Mahotsav.

After lunch hours Rakesh Chaudhary will be detailing on n Medicinal plants, Siddharth Jaiswal – on Starting a Start-up in Organic & Sustainable Agribusiness, Deepak Ashwin on Design your Food Forest. .Discussion on Organic Traditional Handloom will be in a Closed Group Session. Arun Baid will detail out on Natural Dye Made simple, Anita Paul explains the Participatory Guarantee System and Gender Equality! Experiences from Himalaya.

Some other equally interesting conversations will be around  Plants used in natural Dye and their significance. Benefits of Millets and Local food in women and Children, Role of Tubers in our diet, Gastronomy and our family kitchens and Jaivik Kutumb “Community Supported Agriculture”
