Parshottam Rupala Visits Border Villages in Ladakh; Distributes Yak Shearing Machines & Cattle Feed

Parshottam Rupala, Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, visited border villages in Ladakh and was greeted warmly by village representatives. Rupala interacted with the villagers in the area.

Union Minister promised that a veterinary ambulance would be in service soon and that a proposal for water lifting would be prepared. He stated that other demands would be discussed with other government departments/agencies.

Among the beneficiaries, the Union Minister also distributed yak shearing machines, Rebo nomadic tents made of yak hair, and cattle feed. He later interacted with other herders.

Similarly, the Union Minister went to Sato village and spoke with the people of Sato, Kargyam, and Parma. After a patient hearing, the Union Minister assured them that their demands would be considered.

The dignataries were provided mementos of Frozen Pangong Lake marathon conducted under 'vibrant village programme'.

The Union Minister paid a visit to Tashi Tsering's winter reserve pasture in Sato village and inquired about the health of the yak herd.

On the way to Phobrang, the Minister met with the Jawan and officers of the 24 ITBP Battalion and expressed his appreciation for their efforts. The villagers of Kakjung, Phobrang, and Yourgo gave the Minister a warm traditional welcome in Phobrang.

Various issues of Phobrang village were discussed one-on-one with the villagers, including pasture development, yak breeding centre, Rural Banking facilities, feral dog control programme, provision of more yak units of larger sizes, nomad exposure tour to Central Asia, and equipment and training to women SHGs of Phobrang village for value addition of Pashmina.

Rupala promised to address the community's concerns. He also met KonchokStobgais, a woman SHG working with Pashmina value addition, and visited the village craft centre, where he praised their efforts.
