Indian teenager Parvej Khan has made headlines by clinching gold in the men's 1500m race at the NCAA SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships 2024. This prestigious collegiate event took place at LSU Bernie Moore Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on May 11, 2024.
The 19-year-old Khan surged ahead in the final stretch, securing victory with an impressive time of 3 minutes and 42.73 seconds. He bested USA’s Max Hardin, who finished close behind at 3:43.39, and Dalton Hengst, who took third with a time of 3:43.51.
Khan, a freshman at the University of Florida, competes for the Florida Gators and is on an athletics scholarship. His remarkable performance at the SEC Championships is further highlighted by his bronze medal win in the 800m race category earlier in the event.
