Petrol Subsidy for BPL Households, Took Effect on Republic Day
On the two-year anniversary of the JMM-led government in the state, the chief minister announced last month a petrol subsidy for BPL households, which took effect on Republic Day. Soren stated that his government has made efforts to create jobs and ensure that the general public is involved in administration and development. "With the availability of contemporary infrastructure and quality teachers, a total of 80 schools of excellence, 325 block-level leader schools, and 4,091 gramme panchayat-level model schools are being built," he said. Around 250 schools in various districts have been picked for a pilot project to develop a mother tongue-based teaching system, he said. Soren said the country had seen what happened to migrant workers after the pandemic broke out and the country was put on lockdown.
"Immigration cannot be entirely prevented. As a result, we wish to do something to help migrant workers. In the districts of Dumka, Gumla, and West Singhbhum, the 'Safe and Responsible Migration Initiative' will be implemented as a pilot project. "Later, after evaluating the challenges associated to the migration of labourers from Jharkhand, a 'Comprehensive Migration Policy' will be established in the next 18 months," he said.
Emphasized On the Importance of Creating Jobs
More than 80 lakh unorganized sector workers in the state have registered on the government's e-shram portal, according to Soren. He emphasized the importance of creating jobs, saying that steps had been taken to expedite the process of filling empty positions in the state government, which has been languishing for years.
To give Jharkhand's youth the best chance at government jobs, it has been made obligatory to pass grades 10 and 12 from a state-approved institution, as well as have a working grasp of the local language and culture, he said.
