Farmers across the country are eagerly waiting for the PM-KISAN 17th installment, expected to be disbursed by late June or early July this year. The PM-KISAN scheme, aimed at providing direct financial assistance to farmers to support their livelihoods and sustain agricultural activities, continues to play a crucial role in improving rural incomes.

Under the PM-KISAN scheme, eligible farmers receive Rs 2,000 every four months, totaling Rs 6,000 annually. This financial support is disbursed in three installments: April-July, August-November, and December-March, directly transferred to the beneficiaries' bank accounts.

The 16th installment of the scheme, amounting to over Rs 21,000 crore, was distributed to more than 9 crore farmers in February 2024. This followed the distribution of the 15th installment on November 15, 2023. The upcoming 17th installment is expected to provide critical financial aid to farmers ahead of the upcoming agricultural season.

PM-KISAN 17 Installment: 5 Reasons for Application Rejections

While PM-KISAN aims to reach all eligible farmers, some applications may get rejected due to specific reasons:

  1. Incorrect Bank Details: Rejections can occur if the bank account details provided are incorrect. Farmers are advised to verify and ensure the accuracy of their bank information.

  2. Incomplete e-KYC: Completing e-KYC (Know Your Customer) is essential for receiving PM-KISAN installments. Farmers can complete this process through OTP-based eKYC on the PM-KISAN Portal or by visiting nearby Common Service Centres (CSC) for Biometric-based eKYC.

  3. Exclusion Category: Some applicants may fall under exclusion categories, leading to rejection of their applications.

  4. Aadhaar-Bank Account Linkage: Applications may be rejected if the bank account is not linked with the applicant's Aadhaar card.

  5. Applicant's Age: Farmers below the age of 18 years may face rejection of their applications.
