PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana: How Farmers Can Register and Get Rs 3000 Every Month

For those who don't know, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMY), is a government scheme, which is meant for old age protection & social security of small and marginal farmers of India.

For those who don't know, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMY), is a government scheme, which is meant for old age protection & social security of small and marginal farmers of India.

Under PM-KMY, a minimum fixed pension of rupees three thousand will be given to eligible small and marginal farmers, depending on certain exclusion clauses, on completing 60 years. This is a voluntary as well as contributory pension scheme, with an entry age of 18 to 40 years.

Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar informed that around 20 lakh farmers of the country have been registered under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana till now. The Centre's ambitious scheme aims to cover as many as 3 crore farmer-beneficiaries.

What are the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan-Dhan Yojana

A farmer beneficiary can choose to become a member of PM-KMY by subscribing to a Pension Fund, which is managed by LIC (Life Insurance Corporation of India). He will have to make a monthly contribution of Rs. 55 to 200 to the Pension Fund and this will depend on the age of entry into the scheme & with the provision of equal contribution by the Centre. In addition, withdrawal from the PM-KMY can be willingly or on the failure of contribution or on death.

On exit from PM-KMY, farmer will get his accumulated share while the Government's contribution will be deposited in the LIC Fund. After the demise of subscriber, the spouse will be entitled to receive 50% of the pension as family pension, provided he is not a SMF beneficiary of the yojana. On the death of subscriber during the period of contribution, spouse will get the option to continue the scheme by paying regular contribution.

All small and marginal farmers, in between 18-40 years of age, who do not fall within the purview of the exclusion criteria, are eligible to avail the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan-Dhan Yojana. The ratio of contribution between farmers & Government is 1:1.

Below we have mentioned step by step process as to how farmers can register for this government pension scheme:

Step 1 -Go to the official website of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana- pmkmy.gov.in/

Step 2 - On the right-hand side of the homepage you will see a link that says 'Click Here to Apply Now

Step 3 - Then you will find two options - self-enrollment (using Mobile number & OTP) and CSC VLE (using CSC connect).

Step 4 -  After selecting self-enrollment, enter your mobile number carefully

Step 5 - Now enter your name, email id, and captcha and click on generate OTP

Step 6 - Finally fill in the details and submit it
