PM to Chair 1st National Conf. of Chief Secretaries in Dharamshala on 16th & 17th June
The Conference, working as Team India, will lay the groundwork for collaborative action for higher growth with sustainability, job creation, education, ease of living, and Aatmanirbharta in agriculture.
On the 16th and 17th of June 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over the First National Conference of Chief Secretaries at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. It will be a significant step toward strengthening the relationship between the Centre and the state governments.
National Conference of Chief Secretaries will be held in June 2022, from the 15th to the 17th. The conference will be attended by over 200 people representing the Central Government, all States/UTs, and domain experts. It will be held over three days and will focus on rapid and sustained economic growth in collaboration with the states.
The Conference, working as Team India, will lay the groundwork for collaborative action for higher growth with sustainability, job creation, education, ease of living, and Aatmanirbharta in agriculture. The Conference will focus on the evolution and implementation of a common development agenda and blueprint for collaborative action to achieve the people's aspirations.
The conference concept and agenda were developed over the course of six months through more than 100 rounds of deliberation. Three themes have been identified for further discussion at the Conference: Implementation of the National Education Policy; urban governance; and crop diversification and self-sufficiency in oilseeds, pulses, and other agri-commodities. School and higher education will be discussed in the National Education Policy.
Best practices from states/UTs will be presented at the Conference for mutual learning under each of the themes.
A session on the Aspirational Districts Programme would be held to discuss the program's accomplishments thus far, with successful case studies, including data-driven governance, presented by young Collectors in specific districts.
A special session on 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: Roadmap to 2047' would be held, as well as four additional thematic sessions on Reducing Compliance Burden & Decriminalization of Minor Offenses for Ease of Doing Business; center-state Coordination for achieving saturation coverage of schemes and ensuring last-mile delivery; Transforming India's Infrastructure through PM Gati Shakti; and Capacity Building: Implementation of iGOT - Mission Karmayogi.
The Conference's outcomes will then be discussed at the NITI Aayog Governing Council Meeting, which will be attended by Chief Ministers and Administrators from all States and Union Territories so that an action plan can be finalized with broad consensus at the highest levels.
