The disbursement of funds to the States for executing the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) follows a systematic approach, considering various factors such as the State's project proposals, ongoing and pending works, the State's ability to execute projects, and the unspent funds in its possession.

The Ministry allocates funds for PMGSY projects to the State as a whole. However, the release of funds to the district-level program implementation units (PIUs) is delegated to the respective States, contingent on the projected expenses for the projects at that level. This process ensures efficient utilization of resources and proper implementation of the PMGSY across the country.

Below is the comprehensive breakdown of the funds disbursed to the State of Maharashtra, along with the corresponding expenditure, including the state's contribution, for each fiscal year starting from 2018-19:

As of July 20, 2023, the State of Maharashtra retains an unspent balance of Rs. 747.68 crore designated for the implementation of PMGSY (Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana). However, specific details regarding the funds allocated to individual districts within the State are not centrally maintained. It's important to note that the PMGSY funds are not allocated for specific Gram Panchayats.

Furthermore, according to information provided by the State Government, the Konshi – Dabhil road project has not been sanctioned under the PMGSY scheme. This update was shared by Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, the Union Minister of State for Rural Development, in a written response during a session in Lok Sabha today.
