Pulwama Attack 2019: Indian Film Industry Bans Pakistani Artistes from Working in the Country

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has announced a total ban on Pakistani actors and artists in the light of Pulwama terror attack. The organization in the notice said, “They are firm on their decision and will take strong action against anyone who works with Pakistani artists.”

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has announced a total ban on Pakistani actors and artists in the light of Pulwama terror attack. The organization in the notice said, “They are firm on their decision and will take strong action against anyone who works with Pakistani artists.” 

According to the notice, “AICWA strongly condemns brutal terrorist attack on our soldiers at Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir. Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. AICWA stands with nation in confronting like terror and inhumanity. Were officially announcing a total ban on Pakistani Actors and Artists working in Film Industry.” 

It further added, “Still if any organisation insist on working with Pakistani Artists will be banned by AICWA and a strong action will be taken against them. Nation comes first, we stand with our nation.”  

The film wing of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) asked music companies to discontinue working with Pakistani singers. 

The party also warned the companies that if the music firms don’t stop working with Pakistani singers, they will be taking action against them in their own style. 

Though, there has been no written communication by the party and they have also verbally communicated to companies like T-Series, Sony Music, Venus, Tips Music, among others. 

Earlier also Pakistani artistes has faced a similar backlash in 2016 after the Uri attacks when MNS had given a 48-hour deadline to all Pakistani artistes to leave India.
