Punjab Agriculture University to Organize Conclave of NRI Farmers

Punjab Agriculture University (PAU) is looking for Non-Resident Indian (NRI) farmers located in various countries who have achieved great success in agriculture in order to promote technical innovation in agriculture and turn it into a profitable venture.

They will be urged to tell their success stories and tell Punjab farmers how they may achieve large during a three-day NRI conference from May 10 to 12 at PAU, Ludhiana.

Successful NRI farmers will also be required to communicate with students, so those pursuing various agriculture-based courses may discover that agriculture is one of the key avocations even if they wish to reside abroad.

The NRIs will meet with the makers of Punjab's agricultural policy and explain their nations' farm initiatives and policies.

About PAU:

Punjab Agricultural institution (PAU) is a publicly sponsored agricultural institution in the Ludhiana district of Punjab, currently led by Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal. 

 

In India, it is a state agricultural university. It was founded in 1962 and is the third-oldest agricultural institution in the country, following Govind Ballabh Pant institution of Agriculture and Technology in Pantnagar and Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology in Bhubaneshwar.

On July 8, 1962, it was solemnly launched by India's then-Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. In the 1960s, PAU pioneered the Green Revolution in India.

It was divided in 2005 when Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) was established.
