Rain: Holidays Declared In These Districts Due To Massive Rain
Holidays were declared in six districts of Kerala due to massive rain. Additionally, different parts of the country record heavy rainfall including Gurgaon.
Due to heavy rain in several districts of India, the collectors of six districts in Kerala have announced holidays for educational institutions. The district of Kasaragod has declared holidays only for schools, while the districts of Idukki, Kannur, Thrissur, Ernakulam, and Kottayam have approved holidays for both schools and professional colleges.
In Pathanamthitta district, the collector has declared a holiday for schools that have been transformed into temporary relief camps. The collector also emphasized the importance of school authorities taking necessary steps to make up for the lost working day.
In Kuttanad, Alappuzha, a holiday has been declared for all educational institutions, including professional colleges. Similarly, in Chengannur, where relief camps are in operation, some schools have also been granted a holiday.
Holidays have been announced due to the heavy rainfall in these districts and the need to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff in educational institutions. It also underscores the importance of authorities and school officials taking proactive measures to address the challenges posed by such weather conditions.
Gurgaon Roads Waterlogged; Vehicles Under Knee-Deep Water
Apart from Kerala, Gurgaon also faced heavy rainfall in the last few days. Several roads of Gurgaon are logged underwater. Media reports say that the city recorded 65 mm of rainfall on Tuesday as per the district administration.
Several popular and populated areas including Rajiv Chowk, Sector 39, and NH48 in Narsinghpur were logged underwater.
