Rainfall & Hailstorms: Here is What IMD Predicts For Your Region

Over the Western Himalayan Region, scattered showers with isolated thunderstorms and lightning is extremely likely.

Heavy rainfall is expected is certain regions

Rain and thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds will occur throughout Northeast India from April 23 to 27, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). The weather department further stated that a heatwave will affect Gujarat from April 23 to April 27 and that it will likely spread to additional parts of the plains of northwest and central India from April 25.

During the next two days, Chhattisgarh will have sporadic rains, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (up to 30-40 kmph).

During the next 24 hours, similar weather will continue over Vidarbha and Gangetic West Bengal. Today, a hailstorm is possible in south Madhya Maharashtra. In the next five days, little rain is expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura. During the next two days, Chhattisgarh will have sporadic rains, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (up to 30-40 kmph).

During the next 24 hours, similar weather will continue over Vidarbha and Gangetic West Bengal. Today, a hailstorm is possible in south Madhya Maharashtra.

In the next five days, little rain is expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura.

During the next five days, scattered rainfall is quite likely to fall over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. During the following two days, these weather conditions will be accompanied by severe rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya. Thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds (up to 50 kmph) are expected in Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, and Meghalaya over the next five days. During the following two to three days, similar circumstances would be present across Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

Southern Region of India

Heavy rain is expected in south Tamil Nadu and south Kerala on April 23, according to the IMD.

During Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, scattered rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (speeds reaching 30-40 kmph) is very likely to occur over the next five days, and over Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu over the next two days.

Heatwaves Forecast

During the next 5 days, heatwave conditions are extremely likely to prevail in isolated areas across Gujarat.

South Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Gangetic West Bengal will also see heat waves from April 25 to 27.

During the 26-27 April 2022, similar weather will persist throughout Rajasthan, south Haryana, and Vidarbha.
