Rainfall Likely in Mumbai, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh; Hot Humid Weather in Delhi to End This Weekend
During the last 24 hours, Andaman & Nicobar Islands witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall with isolated very heavy spells. While Madhya Pradesh, parts of Gujarat & Kerala experienced light to moderate rains with few heavy spells. In addition, normal rainfall was seen over East Rajasthan and some parts of West Rajasthan, Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Assam and West Bengal.

Weather in the last 24 hours - Andaman & Nicobar Islands witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall with isolated very heavy spells. While Madhya Pradesh, parts of Gujarat & Kerala experienced light to moderate rains with few heavy spells. In addition, normal rainfall was seen over East Rajasthan and some parts of West Rajasthan, Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Assam and West Bengal.
The weather almost remained hot and arid over Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Interior Karnataka, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. The remaining parts of the country saw scattered light showers with one or two moderate spells.
Talking about the weather activity in the next 24 hours - there are predictions of moderate to heavy rainfall will continue over Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, some parts of Odisha and Kerala will witness light to moderate showers with one or two heavy spells.
Scattered light to moderate showers is also possible over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, South Rajasthan, Goa & Konkan, parts of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh & Nagaland. Climate will remain dry like yesterday in Western parts of Punjab, Haryana & Rajasthan while rest of the places will experience scattered light rainfall with 1 or 2 moderate spells.
On the other hand, Mumbai rains are set to return for a short period, giving some relief to the people. In view of a fresh Monsoon surge, Mumbai rains are expected to revisit the city today and tomorrow - 29 and 30 August. During this time, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall in Mumbai, which may further result in water logging at few places.
Southern state of Kerala is one of the rainiest states in Monsoon season. The months of June & July witness good rainfall if compared with August & September. In the next 48 hours, there will be moderate to heavy rainfall in Kerala especially at some places. After that, rains are expected to reduce.
Weather in Delhi
The national capital witnessed a hot and humid weather on 28 August 2019 with the Met department predicting that the city could get some relief from this sultry condition with rainfall on 1st September, Sunday.
