Rainfall to continue in Northeast India for next 24 hours

The depression over West Bengal has now moved towards northeast and weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area over the state as well as neighboring Bangladesh. This system will further move northeastwards. A depression is extending from this system up to Kerala crossing Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu.

The depression over West Bengal has now moved towards the northeast and weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area over the state as well as neighboring Bangladesh. This system will further move northeastwards. A depression is extending from this system up to Kerala crossing Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu.

Also, a cyclonic circulation as an upper air system lies over coastal regions of Tamil Nadu. A Western Disturbance is over Northern Pakistan and adjacent region.

The Cyclonic Storm Luban also continues over West central Arabian Sea and lies around 320 km Southeast of Oman.

Moderate to heavy rainfall occurred in Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand and northeastern states in the past 24 hours. Light showers occurred over Andhra Pradesh Coast, Chhattisgarh and Kerala. Hence the temperature in morning dropped down in Northwestern Plains and Central India.

Moderate rainfall with isolated heavy spells is likely to take place in Tripura, Mizoram and Manipur in the next 24 hours.

Scattered light to moderate rainfall is also expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and South Karnataka. Maximum temperatures will increase over the plains of East India, Rajasthan, and adjacent areas.
