Rajasthan has launched a health insurance scheme for the local citizens, under which each family is entitled to claim up to Rs 5 lakh per year for medical expenses.

This scheme launch will be very beneficial for people in Rajasthan and farmers as there is no such scheme in India in any of the states. It will secure the farmer's health and their medical expenses.

The registration for Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme has started, announced by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in the financial year budget 2021-22.

Rajasthan has become the first state in India where each family can benefit from the health insurance scheme of Rs 5 lakh per year. People can register themselves and be assured of cashless treatment, he tweeted.

He said that registrations for the cashless government treatment have started for all citizens of Rajasthan State.

"It is one of the biggest health care schemes aimed at providing cashless medical relief to all residents of Rajasthan," he added.

Sanctioned Fund for Development Work

The state government also said that the funds would provide each district for work related to public utility as per the local needs from the Chief Minister's Innovation Fund.

In this state-funded scheme, the government has sanctioned Rs 1 crore per year for each district, Chief Minister added.

The prior objective of this launch is to generate employment opportunities by sanctioning work related to the creation of public utility assets, absorbing their innovations following the local needs and public desires of the district as experienced by the district collector.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Gehlot had announced this scheme under the state budget.

The Rural Development department will be the root department of the scheme at the state level. Zila Parishad will be the root agency at the district level for approvals and implementation.

The district collector will issue approval of projects for the amount available in this scheme.
