RRB NTPC Latest Update: CBT 1 Exam Delayed; Will Now Be Held Post-October; More Details Inside

RRB NTPC exam date 2019: Rejecting media reports claiming that the Railway Recruitment Board will release the RRB NTPC exam dates this week, a senior bureaucrat from the board said they have not yet decided the RRB NTPC timetable. According to the official notification, the RRB NTPC exam was scheduled to be held in the month of September. But, since the Railway Recruitment Board is busy conducting other recruitment exams including RRB ALP Technician, RRB junior engineer therefore, it will announce the exam dates in the upcoming days.

RRB NTPC exam date 2019: Rejecting media reports claiming that the Railway Recruitment Board will release the RRB NTPC exam dates this week, a senior bureaucrat from the board said they have not yet decided the RRB NTPC timetable. According to the official notification, the RRB NTPC exam was scheduled to be held in the month of September. But, since the Railway Recruitment Board is busy conducting other recruitment exams including RRB ALP Technician, RRB junior engineer therefore, it will announce the exam dates in the upcoming days.

The Railways official said, “The scrutinizing of the application of RRB NTPC is going on. Leave September, we are not sure about releasing the schedule in October. Moreover, we are busy with other recruitment exams”. Previously the Railways had announced to issue exam dates by September, but, there seems to be another delay.

To recall, this will be the 1st stage computer-based test also known as CBT for the recruitment of Non-technical popular category (NTPC) posts. The normalised marks of 1st stage CBT will be used for selecting candidates for 2nd stage CBT, based on the merit.  One-third mark will be deducted for every wrong answer in the CBT 1.

RRB NTPC exam pattern

  • General awareness                       - 40 questions

  • Mathematics                                - 30 questions            

  • General Intelligence & Reasoning  - 30 questions

Total number of questions – 100

Total duration – 90 minutes

For final selection, candidates will have to qualify a typing test (TST) & document verification after the CBT 1 & 2. As many as 35,277 vacancies are on offer, out of which 10,628 are for 12th pass and 24,649 are for graduate degree holders.
