Rubber Board Launches CRISP Mobile App to Educate Growers
Rubber Board has released the CRISP mobile app to educate growers about rubber cultivation and provide online solutions.
The Rubber Research Institute of India (RRII) collaborated with the Digital University of Kerala to create CRISP (Comprehensive Rubber Information System Platform). ZP Patel, Vice Chancellor of Navsari Agricultural University in Gujarat, introduced the app.
Farmers will now be able to obtain RRII suggestions on production and productivity increase, cultivation cost reduction, soil fertility management, disease control measures, and so on with the use of CRISP.
Presently, these services are available to farmers through traditional extension ways. Several of these recommendations are location-specific and can be linked to geo-information systems and sent directly to farmers.
Rubber Board Executive Director KN Raghavan launched RRII's e-library. The publication 'Status report- Molecular and physiological markers for genetic enhancement of natural rubber' was published by Saji Gopinath, Vice-Chancellor of the Digital University of Kerala.
The present rubber cultivation studies in Gujarat were explained by Lalit Mahatma, Associate Director of Research at Navsari Agricultural University.
