Rubber Board's Platinum Jubilee Celebrated 75 Years of Promoting & Regulating Rubber Cultivation in India
The Rubber Board marked the Platinum Jubilee Celebration of the Rubber Act for completing 75 years. The Rubber Fraternity in India comprises 538 large estates, 4447 consumers, 108 processors, 12 lakh small growers, 8309 growers, and 25 lakhs+ employees.
Today marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Rubber Board, which has played a crucial role in promoting and regulating rubber cultivation in the state. The Rubber Board was formed as a result of the Rubber Act, which also turns 75 today. The celebrations for this milestone commenced, with Dr. Savan Dhanania, the Chairman of the Rubber Board, presiding over the event.
The online event was attended by several high-profile guests, including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Union Industries Minister Piyush Goyal, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma. During the event, Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Additional Secretary of Industries, unveiled a sculpture at the Rubber Board headquarters.
Rubber Board’s Executive Director M. Vasantagesan inaugurated the exhibition held at Mammen Mapila Hall. The book "Rubber History" written by Vinod Thomas was also presented by Dr. Satish Ebrahim, a scientist at the Indian Rubber Research Center and President of the Association of Latex Producers of India. The book was released by Savar Dhananya.
Secretary Incharge P. Dr. Sudha and Director of Rubber Technology CB Varghese also spoke during the occasion. The Rubber Board's achievements and contributions to the state's rubber industry were celebrated during the event. The Rubber Board has been instrumental in providing a clear direction for rubber cultivation in the state and has played a pivotal role in shaping the industry's growth and development.
