Sarbananda Sonowal Inaugurates Additional Yoga Therapy Rooms at Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga

Union Minister for Ayush and Ports, Shipping, & Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, celebrated a significant milestone in the integration of Yoga therapy into the healthcare system by inaugurating additional Yoga Therapy Rooms at the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) in New Delhi. This event underscored the institute's unwavering commitment to promoting and propagating the ancient practice of Yoga for holistic well-being.

Sonowal emphasized the crucial role of yoga therapy in enhancing self-awareness, self-realization, and overall holistic health. He stressed that the wisdom of Yoga, developed in India over a thousand years ago, should be shared with the world, positioning India as a leader in addressing global health challenges.

He expressed admiration for the work carried out by the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, noting that the significant number of visitors to the institution attests to its credibility, training, therapy, research, and excellence. He also shared his vision of a future where 'Heal in India' would become the standard, with India sharing its resources and expertise for the global benefit.

A moment of historical significance transpired when the Minister received handwritten letters from former Prime Minister of India, Morarji Bhai Desai, presented by Padma Shri Awardee Dr. Ravindra Kumar. Dr. Kumar, the former Vice Chancellor of Chowdhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, had a longstanding association with Morarji Desai, making this exchange a poignant tribute to the legacy of the former Prime Minister.

The establishment of additional Yoga therapy rooms at the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga represents a crucial step towards making comprehensive healthcare services readily accessible to individuals seeking the benefits of Yoga therapy. MDNIY has long been a pioneer in yoga-based therapeutic education, training, and research, and the addition of these therapy rooms is expected to elevate the accessibility and effectiveness of Yoga therapy.

Vikram Singh, Director of the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, shared insights into the institute's ongoing work and various initiatives in the realm of Yoga and well-being. He expressed his gratitude towards the Minister for his unwavering support for Yoga and his inclusive attitude towards MDNIY's students.

Director MDNIY also expressed his gratitude to Dr. Ravindra Kumar for sharing the treasure of letters from Morarji Bhai Desai, the Former Prime Minister of India.
