Though most of the schools will be selling admission forms online, there are many schools that will sell forms at its premises for the convenience of parents. It must be noted that the last date for submission of admission forms is 7th January 2019.
The very first list of selected applicants will be published on 4th February 2019 by the schools on their official websites. From 5th to 12th February, parents can take up their inquiries related to point allotment with the grievance redressal and monitoring cells made by the Directorate of Education (DoE) in all the districts. And the same process will be followed if a second list is displayed.
While, most of the schools have given much priority to distance (neighborhood), siblings and alumni while giving points for admission, some have even considered girl child, first child, single parent and legally adopted child for the same.
The schools have set these criteria for their 50 to 75 percent general category entry-level seats. Meanwhile, the list for the 25 percent seats reserved for the EWS or economically weaker section and disadvantaged (DG) categories will be announced shortly and the process will be carried out centrally by the DoE.
In 2018, the Directorate of Education has fixed an upper age limit of 4, 5 and 6 years as on 31st March 2019 for admission in nursery, KG and class 1, in that order. The admission for class 1 and KG will be held at the same time on the basis of vacancies in these classes in every school.
The DoE had given the schools independence to fix their own admission criterion and upload them on DoE’s official website by 14th December. However it had warned them for not including 50 listed criteria like parents education, profession, income, food habits and written or oral interviews (students & parents), which was abolished by the government in 2016.
