Seeds a Gateway to Prosperity: Indian Seed Congress 2020

Indian Seed Congress (ISC) is NSAI’s annual flagship event. It is the biggest seed congress of South East Asia bringing together industry, scientists & governments from across the global. ISC 2020 showcases the latest trends and views of the Seed sector; voices their concerns; deliberates on new technological advances to tackle obstacles to growth.

Indian Seed Congress (ISC) is NSAI’s annual flagship event. It is the biggest seed congress of South East Asia bringing together industry, scientists & governments from across the global. ISC 2020 showcases the latest trends and views of the Seed sector; voices their concerns; deliberates on new technological advances to tackle obstacles to growth. National Seed Association of India is an apex association of the Indian seed industry comprising the small, medium and large companies as well as public state seed corporations. It has more than 500 members from all over the country. NSAI works closely with Government departments for developing policies which would spur agricultural growth, the Indian Seed Congress 2020 on a convergence of science, business and policy.”

The second day of the 10th Indian Seed Congress 2020 in New Delhi on Monday (17th Feb) saw the Union Minister of Agriculture Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar addressing the audience regarding the importance of quality seeds to ensure food and nutrition security giving main focus on farmers’ prosperity. He encouraged that more research needed to be done in the seed sector given the climatic changes we are being affected. He also spoke about transparency within the seed system and are ensured full support to the seed industry. He also spoke about the seed act which is yet to be released.

Mr. Prabhakar Rao, President of the National Seed Association also spoke on the occasion. R.K. Trivedi speaking at the occasion emphasized on availability of quality seeds through NSAI, creating transparent and simpler regulations. Renowned scientists, agricultural experts and policymakers will be present at the different sessions.

Various media organizations including Editor-in-chief of Krishi Jagran M.C Dominic, Agriculture World Editor, Dr. Lakshmi Unnithan and Senior DGM, Megha Sharma are present at ISC 2020.
