Solvent Extractors' Association to Present ‘Shri Somalal Vyas SEA Innovation Awards 2022’ in September

According to a statement by SEA, these awards would increase Indians' competitiveness in both domestic and international markets while also honoring the country's top innovators.

Six winners (maximum) from each of these two categories will get a cash prize of 3 lakh as part of the awards.

The Solvent Extractors' Association (SEA) of India will present ‘Shri Somalal Vyas SEA Innovation Awards 2022’ for novelty and innovative approach to product development of oils, fats & their products derivatives.

The awards will be handed to students, research scholars, research scientists, academicians, and members of farmers' organizations at its annual general meeting on September 21 in Agra.

The Royal Castor foundation in Sidhpur started these awards as part of its CSR (corporate social responsibility) initiative to promote sustainability.

According to a statement by SEA, these awards would increase Indians' competitiveness in both domestic and international markets while also honoring the country's top innovators. Individuals will have the chance to stand out and become well-known on a national and international level for their cutting-edge products and services due to the awards.

Evaluation Process

According to the announcement, the evaluation for the awards will be done on the basis of all new processes, goods, services, technologies, and other innovations that can spur the oils and fats industry's expansion as well as evaluate fresh concepts and methods and assess tangible results.

The awards will be given in two categories: research scientists/academicians/members of farmers' organizations and students/research scholars. Six winners (maximum) from each of these two categories will get a cash prize of 3 lakh as part of the awards, in addition to a certificate for each winner and an innovation trophy.

About Solvent Extractors’ Association (SEA)

In order to support and encourage the development and growth of the solvent extraction industry in India, the Solvent Extractors' Association of India was established in 1963. The Association now has 875 members, including around 350 operating solvent extraction plants with a total yearly processing capacity of about 30 million tonnes for oilcake/oilseed.

The Association is the leading vegetable oil association in the country and an all-Indian organization for the solvent extractions industry. Its diverse and representative membership includes companies that process rice bran, oilcake, minor oilseeds, and soybeans.
