According to latest media reports, a pilot service on booking cars through two main cab aggregators at Delhi Metro stations was launched on 26th December in order to further boost last-mile connectivity for travelers.

Officials told that these kiosks will give booking facility to commuters travelling via metro, who will also get complete information regarding booking status and location of already booked cabs.

At present, Uber has set up such kiosks at Sector 21 Dwarka and Sikanderpur metro stations while, Ola has made it at Noida Sec-18 and M G Road stations. Both Ola and Uber have also set up kiosks at Rajiv Chowk metro station also, informed Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

Mangu Singh, DMRC Managing Director inaugurated the kiosks set up by both the cab aggregators at Rajiv Chowk and Dwarka Sec-21 metro stations.

DMRC said signages will be exhibited inside the premises and outside the metro stations for the convenience of people. It also said, “Giving a further boost to its efforts in ensuring improved last-mile connectivity, DMRC together with Uber and Ola formally kick-started the pilot project today”.

Delhi Metro plans to allocate spaces at almost all metro stations to the cab aggregators for catering to the last-mile needs of travelers. Already, 400 such zones have been discovered at 210 metro stations. And the allotment will be made through an open tender scheme in the next few months.

Singh said, “Our plan is to make mobility flawless by offering access to feeder transportation and to help commuters reach their final destinations. With this joint partnership with cab aggregators, like Ola and Uber, we are looking forward to encourage more people to use the metro and have ease of access for the last-mile connectivity”.
