Spice Board to Organize 'National Conclave on Food Safety 2020' on March 12 & 13

National Conclave on Food Safety will be organized by the Spices Board with the objective of promoting food safety and capacity building. The two-day conclave will be held on March 12 and 13, 2020 in Bengaluru.

National Conclave on Food Safety 2020 will be organized by the Spices Board with the objective of promoting food safety and capacity building. The two-day conclave will be held on March 12 and 13, 2020 in Bengaluru.

The objective of the conclave is to provide progressive knowledge on present food safety situation, expectations on food safety in the international markets, various food laws governing food safety, analysis of the risks involved, assessment, communication, and risk mitigation, and food safety issues in supply chain and managing supply chain for food products. The conclave also aims to look at intervention requirements by promotional bodies especially public and private partnerships, new capabilities, and skill sets and prepare a draft food safety policy for suggesting to the government the same for the next three years.

The program is going to be useful for various stakeholders in the food safety sector. Those who can benefit from this program could be exporters, aspiring entrepreneurs, exporters who are trying to enter designated countries such as the USA, EU, Japan, ANZ, etc, corporate estates, etc. Stakeholders like proprietary plantation owners of spices, co-operatives, Spices growers societies, researchers, government officials, NGO Companies who already have backward integration, service providers, hospitality industry, and also policymakers, and officials of trade promotion organizations may also benefit.
