Spirulina Chikki - a Great Immunity Booster for Covid-19

A new super food developed by CFTRI (Central Food Technological Research Institute), Mysuru to boost up the self-defence power in the need of hour.

Spirullina chikki is a seaweed nutritional snack which is made by stuffing spirulina with traditional peanut jaggery chikki while spirulina is a fresh water microalgae having enormous nutrients including bioavailable vitamins, beta carotene, easily digestible algal proteins, selenium, calcium, magnesium, free ions and also antioxidants.

Spirulina is cultivated in fresh stagnant water; it is also a single cell protein which is in cultivation in many parts of the country.

According to a study, spirulina not only improves blood circulation but also purifies the impurities in blood.  Japanese cancer association has proved to reduce tumors and it acts like a antibacterial agent for many kind of diseases.

A research conducted in Russia concludes that daily intake of 5g of spirulina for 45days said to reduce IGE in children i.e., allergy content to bring back to normal condition.

By looking at the nutritional benefits of spirulina WHO announced it as an "essential food" in 1974 and in 2008 FAO released a report of 40 pages  highlighting it's importance in our diet. NASA scientists found out to be 1g of spirulina is equal to 1 kg of fruits and vegetables

As our daily diet is rich in acidic food most of us are suffering with gastritis, and some other acidity related problems. In this regard spirulina is a alkaline food which nullifies the effect of acids hence relieving stomach from many problems.

By looking at the enormous nutritional benefits of spirulina which is nostrum for even malnutrition and a panacea to all diseases. Therefore, it is not just an algae but a SANJEEVINI.
