Step-to-Step Guide to Retrieve Your Lost Aadhaar Card Through Name & Date of Birth

Aadhaar card has become an important document, which is required to avail various government benefits. The 12-digit unique identity number is provided by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

If you already have an Aadhar card but somehow lost or misplaced it then you don’t need to worry as it can be retrieved by using your name and date of birth even if you can't recall the 12-digit number.

How to retrieve or download an Aadhaar card

Step 1: Go to the official Aadhar website: http://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/retrieve-eid-uid

Step 2: Enter the security code received after your full name, and either your registered cell phone number or email address

Step 3: Then select ‘Send OTP’ from the menu

Step 4: Enter the OTP sent to you on your registered mobile number on your account and press the ‘Verify OTP’ button

Step 5: A notification advising that the Aadhar number/enrolment ID has been issued to your registered mobile number will show up on the screen

Step 6: Go to the e-Aadhar page on the official UIDAI website to receive your Aadhar enrolment number or Aadhar number on your mobile/device

Step 7: Type in your 12-digit Aadhar or 28-digit enrolment ID, and Security Code, and select ‘Send OTP’

Step 8: To download Aadhaar, enter the OTP that you received on your registered mobile number and select ‘Verify and Download’

You will be able to successfully download soft copy of your Aadhar card by following these easy steps. You can take a screenshot of the unique 12-digit number or write it down for future use.
