What is Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana?
This scheme is run by the Central Government to secure the future of daughters. Up to 10 years old daughter’s account can be opened in Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. And it will mature when the daughter will be 21 years old. And in this scheme, the money will be locked till the daughter is 18 years old. And even after 18, only 50% of the amount can be withdrawn. And all money can be withdrawn when your daughter will be 21 years old.
How much Money to Deposit?
Under this scheme, you will need to deposit the money from the time of opening the account to 15 years. And after that, till the date your daughter gets 21 years old, the interest will be paid on that money. You can deposit minimum of 250 rupees to maximum of 1.5 lakh rupees annually.
What if you save 100 rupees daily?
Let us consider that you save 100 rupees daily for your daughter. And you start investing this money in Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana when your daughter is 1-year-old. If in the year 2021, your daughter is 1-year-old, you will have to invest for 15 years, and the total investment money will be 5,47,000 rupees. And your daughter will be 21 years old in the year 2042.
And with the interest rate of 7.6%, by the maturity year, i.e., 2042, the invested money will turn out to be 15,48,854 rupees. With this, just by small investments, you can secure the future of your daughter.
