Tamil Nadu CM to Inaugurate Agri Intex 2022 in Coimbatore on 15 July

The 20th edition of Agri Intex, 2022, an agricultural trade show organized by Codissia Intec Technology Center, will be officially opened on Friday (15 July) by Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister M K Stalin. The four-day fair is organized after a gap of two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (Codissia) president, V. Thirugnanam, has announced that the 20th edition of the expo will take place here from July 15 to July 18. M.R.K. Panneerselvam, Minister of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, and V. Senthil Balaji, Minister of Electricity, Prohibition, and Excise, will also attend the ceremony.

On Monday, N. Krishnaraj, the event's chairman, informed reporters that the fair at Codissia Trade Fair Complex would cover three lakh square feet and feature 497 exhibitors. The All-India Agricultural Implements Manufacturers' Association, Tamil Nadu Veterinary, and Animal Sciences University, Tamil Nadu Fisheries University, and Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) would all endorse it.

After a two-year gap, the event will feature a rooftop garden, greenhouse, model farm, animal farm, and a showcase of various agricultural and value-adding machinery.

Along with participation from various regions of the nation, there will be booths from companies from Israel, France, Japan, Germany, Italy, and Sweden.

This year, he said, the emphasis is on drip irrigation, automation, precision farming, and value addition.

On each of the four days, the TNAU will provide a seminar. On July 16 and 17, conferences will be held.

"We have issued messages and free permits to about eight lakh farmers. At least 1.5 lakh farmers are expected to attend the fair. Children under the age of 12 are not allowed in the exhibition, which will be on from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.,” he added.
