Tamil Nadu TET 2019: Registration from March 15, Applying Method, Eligibility, Exam Pattern, Important Dates

Online registration for Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) will begin on March 15. The examination date of Tamil Nadu Teacher Recruitment Board is yet to be announced. The test will comprise two papers.

Online registration for Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) will begin on March 15. The examination date of Tamil Nadu Teacher Recruitment Board is yet to be announced. The test will comprise two papers.  

Paper 1 will assess the candidates applying for the teacher post in classes 1-5, the second paper will be of classes 6-8. Interested candidates can submit their application on the official website of the Board at trb.tn.nic.in  

However, as per the board, the application will only be accepted in online mode. The last date to submit the online application is April 5, 2019. 

Tamil Nadu TET 2019: Simple Steps to Apply 

  • Interested and eligible candidates can apply directly through the official website of TRB - trb.tn.nic.in.

  • On the homepage, click on paper-I / paper – II. Use separate application for Paper-I and Paper-II.

  • Click on ‘new registration’

  • Register using personal details

  • Log-in with registered id

  • Fill form, upload images

Tamil Nadu TET 2019: Eligibility Criteria 

Paper I:  

  • Higher secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

  • or

  • Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

  • or

  • Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education.

  • or

  • Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

  • or

  • Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

  • or

  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor of Education.

Paper – II 

  • Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

  • or

  • Graduated with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).

  • Or

  • Graduated with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations.

  • or

  • Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (El.Ed.).

  • or

  • Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed./B.Sc. Ed

  • or

  • Graduated with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of B.Ed. (Special Education).

  • or

  • Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. programme, recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET.

Tamil Nadu TET 2019: Important Points to Remember 

  • Candidates should have their scanned recent colouredpassport size photograph (JPG/JPEG /PNG format of size 20-60 kB) and signature (JPG/JPEG/PNG format of size 10-30 kB) separately. 

  • According to the board, the online application uploaded without the photograph and signature will be rejected. 

  • Incomplete or defective applications shall be summarily rejected.

  • A valid e-mail id and mobile number are compulsory for registration.

  • Candidates should carefully fill the particulars mentioned in the online application including the name of the candidate, paper applied, communal category, date of birth, address etc as no correspondence regarding change of details will be entertained by the board.

  • Each of the two papers will carry a total of 150 marks. Candidates who want to apply for both the exams, need to submit separate application for paper 1 and paper 2 along with separate exam fees.

  • "Examination will be held in all districts. Candidates should appear for the Examination at their own expenses. The Board reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of examination centresand to re-allot the candidates for administrative reasons. 

 TNTET 2019: Important Dates   

  • Released date of notification: February 28, 2019

  • The beginning of submission of online application: March 15, 2019

  • The last date for submission of online application: April 5, 2019

  • Date of written examination for Paper I and Paper II will be announced later by TN TRB

  • The applications will only be accepted before 5 PM of April 5, 2019, the links will be removed after 5 PM on April 5, 2019.

 Candidates with 60% and above in the TNTET (Paper-I/ Paper-II) Examination will be issued with TNTET (Paper-I/ Paper-II) Pass Certificate. 

Relaxation of 5% marks will be given to BC, BC (M), MBC/DNC, SC, SC (A), ST and Person with Disability Candidates," according to the official notice. The validity of the certificate is 7 years.
