TDP Demands Water for Chilli Crop: Calls for Protest in Narasaraopet

Lakshminarayana told the media on Saturday in Sattenapalli, Palnadu district in Andhra Pradesh, saying farmers producing chilli and other crops on more than 50,000 acres had been frantic for water for their harvests.

Chilli is a spicy fruit that is used in cooking. It is commonly used as an ingredient in meals to make them spicy. According to the most recent data, India leads the world in chilli output, followed by China, Peru, Spain, and Mexico.

Indian chiles are famous for their pungency and colour, particularly those grown in Andhra Pradesh's Guntur area. Some of the larger chilies are called bell peppers and are consumed as a vegetable. Chilli is known by several different names in India, including lanka, mirchi, and others.

Lakshminarayana said that they all needed the water for the final time this season to wet their agricultural lands. Lakshminarayana claimed that when farmers petitioned the State government to give irrigation water, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy silenced them by utilizing the police force.

He stated that due to the government's ruthlessness in suppressing farmers' voices, he has called for a demonstration on April 18 in front of the district Collectorate in Narasaraopet.

He stated that all aggrieved farmers under the Nagarjuna Sagar Right Canal would join the demonstration and raise their voices against the State administration.
