Fifty Teachers Selected for National Teachers’ Awards 2024 by Department of School Education and Literacy
Teachers' Day: National Teachers' Awards aim to celebrate and recognize the invaluable efforts of teachers who have significantly improved the quality of education and positively impacted their students' lives.
The Ministry of Education's Department of School Education & Literacy has selected 50 distinguished teachers for the prestigious National Teachers' Awards 2024. This announcement comes after a thorough and transparent three-stage selection process, conducted online at district, state, and national levels. The awards ceremony is set to take place on 5th September 2024, starting at 4:15 PM, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The selected teachers hail from 28 States, 3 Union Territories, and 6 organizations, reflecting a diverse representation from across India. Among the 50 awardees, there is a notable distribution: 34 are male, 16 are female, 2 are differently-abled, and 1 works with Children with Special Needs (CWSN). This year’s awards also extend to 16 teachers from the Department of Higher Education and 16 from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, making a total of 82 recipients who will be honored for their exceptional contributions to education.
The National Teachers' Awards aim to celebrate and recognize the invaluable efforts of teachers who have significantly improved the quality of education and positively impacted their students' lives. The selection process for these awards was initiated with an online self-nomination portal, open from 27th June 2024 to 21st July 2024, on the Ministry of Education’s official site http://nationalawardstoteachers.education.gov.in.
