TERI, IWA & UNDP Felicitate Individuals for their Efforts to Conserve Water

The First TERI-IWA-UNDP - Water Sustainability Awards 2021, under Category 4C: Water Users in Agricultural Sector was won by Dr Sreeni K R, Project Manager, PayAgri Innovations Pvt Ltd, IITM Research Park, Taramani, Chennai and Vargheese Tharakan, Owner, Ayurjack farm Kurumalkunnu, Velur, Kerala.

Water is vital to the economy, as well as the country's food and energy security. The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), in collaboration with the International Water Association (IWA) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), India, has announced the Water Sustainability Awards, which honor efforts of the people to conserve water.

Individuals, self-help organizations, industries, municipal boards, gram panchayats, resident welfare associations, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) should be recognized for their outstanding achievements in meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) connected to water. It's worth noting that goals relating to water have received a lot of attention in the UN's numerous Sustainable Development Goals.

The Water Champions Award and Felicitation Award Ceremony is held in presence of Bharat Lal, Secretary, Lokpal of India, Shoko Noda, UNDP Resident Representative in India, Dr Vibha Dhawan, DG, TERI, then felicitation the jury members. Dr S K Sarkar, Senior Director, TERI.
