This Government Scheme Provides Free and Low-priced LPG Cylinders; Know How to Apply

The prices of LPG Cylinder have been increased again giving a big blow to people. It is important to mention that the price of domestic LPG Cylinder without the subsidy has increased by Rs 25 starting from 1st July. The price of LPG cylinder in the Delhi has gone up to Rs 834. Earlier the LPG price was Rs 809.

The prices of LPG Cylinder have been increased again giving a big blow to people. It is important to mention that the price of domestic LPG Cylinder without the subsidy has increased by Rs 25 starting from 1st July. The price of LPG cylinder in the Delhi has gone up to Rs 834. Earlier the LPG price was Rs 809.

On the other hand, under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, people are getting subsidy on cylinders.

The scheme known as “Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala” was started in 2016. The government provides gas connections to the families with low monthly income. Under this scheme, gas cylinders connections are given free of cost to those women, who are above 18 years and who have bank account along with BPL card.

Only women from a BPL cardholder family can apply to take the advantage of this connection. For getting the advantage of this scheme, you have to do the registration for the “Ujjwala Yojana”.

During the registration, you will be asked for some documents. Below are the Important documents for the “Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana”.

  • BPL Card

  • Aadhar Card

  • Age Certificate

  • Ration Card

  • Bank Passport

  • Mobile Number

  • A recent Passport-sized Photograph

After providing the necessary documents, you can easily join the scheme and can get its benefits.

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY)

The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is an ambitious social welfare scheme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it was launched on 1st May 2016 from Ballia in Uttar Pradesh.  Under this scheme, around 5 CR LPG connections will be provided by the government to BPL families with a support to Rs 1600 per connections in the next three years. The government aims to give free LPG connections to the BPL household in the country.

The scheme aims to safeguard the health of women and children by providing them with clean cooking fuel – LPG, so that they don’t have to compromise their health by working in a smoky kitchen or wander in the unsafe areas for searching firewood’s.
