Three-Day Agri Progress Expo to be Held in Ludhiana from 20-22 January, 2023

With assistance from the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), the Bureau of Indian Standards, the central Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, and the Indian Council for Agricultural Research, the third annual expo is organized by Udan Media and Communication Pvt Ltd. It is organized in collaboration with the Punjab State Agriculture Implement Manufacturer Association (PSAIMA), and it is also supported by the Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Association (AMMA, India).

According to Baldev Singh, chairman of the PSAIMA, India Agri Progress Expo-2023 will serve as a one-stop forum for farmers to experience the latest technological products that will help them improve their capabilities. "As we all know, the Indian government promotes agriculture and farmers in a variety of ways. So, by organising this exhibition, we are also taking a step forward in promoting agriculture industries, and the level of agriculture will increase as newer technologies are developed," he said.

Singh went on to say that the expo provided a one-stop shop for farmers, farm machinery manufacturers, policymakers, and the spare parts industry. According to Sarabjeet Singh, secretary of the AMMA, the exhibitors will display machinery that will assist farmers in managing their crops and dairy products. "The machinery regarding management of stubble, irrigation system, drone technology etc will be displayed here.

Furthermore, farmers are currently facing a labour shortage, and machines will assist farmers in overcoming the labour shortage," he said. Dr. Mahesh Narang of PAU also emphasised the importance of promoting millet cultivation, which he claims has declined significantly since the green revolution. The expo will feature 200 manufacturers from across India displaying their latest agricultural and allied products.

More than 3,000 products, including combines, tractors, super seeders, straw reapers, laser levellers, threshers, power tillers, disc harrows, and sprayers, would be on display. Prom dairy equipment and food processing machinery of the highest quality would also be on display. 

"Because the government of India has declared 2023 as the year of millets," said Dr Rajveer Singh of the ICAR, "We will use this platform to create awareness about the uses and benefits of the millet crop. We expect around 50,000 visitors to attend this grand show. Around 2,000 dealers and distributors are in attendance. A shuttle service from Sherpur Chowk to the exhibition centre will be provided for dealers and distributors," he added.
