Tourism Ministry to Host Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Food Festival in New Delhi
The Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Food Festival will give visitors a fascinating tour of India's regional flavors, establishing a closer bond with the country's diverse culinary landscape and cultural heritage.
The Ministry of Tourism has joined hands with multiple State Governments and Union Territories (UTs) to organize the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav & Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Food Festival. The 3-day festival, set to take place from August 18th to 20th, 2023, in the capital city, aims to highlight the diverse flavours and dishes that define each region of the country.
The primary objective of the event is to present the rich culinary heritage of India through state-specific cuisines, inviting attendees to embark on a gastronomic journey that reflects the essence of every locality. With participation from enthusiastic representatives of 23 States and UTs, the festival promises to be a vibrant celebration of India's unity in diversity.
To create an immersive experience, the Food Festival will be hosted at the State Sadans/Bhawans of the participating States in New Delhi, providing an authentic setting for visitors to indulge in an array of traditional dishes. States and UTs such as Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Gujarat, Assam, Mizoram, Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal, Punjab, Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Punjab, Meghalaya, Karnataka, Chattisgarh, and Nagaland are among the proud contributors to the festival's diverse spread.
In a unique combination of flavors and craftsmanship, some of the participating regions are also organizing handicraft exhibitions alongside the Food Festival within the premises of their respective State Bhawans. This integration of cultural elements adds an extra layer of depth to the event, making it a celebration not only of taste but also of India's artistic heritage.
The festival also underscores the 'Dekho Apna Desh' initiative, a successful program by the Ministry that encourages citizens to explore the hidden gems of their own country. By promoting domestic tourism and fostering pride in national heritage, the Food Festival aligns perfectly with this overarching goal.
The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav & Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Food Festival goes beyond being just a culinary event; it's a testament to India's rich culture and heritage. It encapsulates the spirit of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, where the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Tourism, State Governments, and various stakeholders come together to create a truly enriching and unifying experience.
