According to a social media viral post, the Indian government is offering loans up to 5 lakhs on Aadhar Cards. The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has sent out a tweet to clarify that the claims are false. Additionally, it has warned the public not to provide their financial data or spread such false claims.

Particularly since the pandemic, there has been a sharp increase in the amount of fake news being shared on social media. This claim about the government providing loans using Aadhar cards is simply one more in a long series of such widespread false information.

A few days back, there was a rumor going around that said the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) loan had been approved. There was a link that wasn't verified that was supposed to direct visitors to another page for verification. That message was also declared fake by PIB.

According to another message, the Finance Ministry was reportedly providing a loan under the PM Mudra Yojna with a legal fee of Rs 2,150. The government, however, also denied this claim.
