UGC NET June 2024 Exam Schedule & City Slip Information Out; Check the Details
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the UGC NET June 2024 exam schedule, set for June 18, with detailed city intimation slips and admit cards to be released soon.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the examination schedule for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) for June 2024. Candidates can check the exam and city slip schedule on the official website ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The UGC NET June 2024 exam will be held on June 18, 2024, in OMR mode, with the morning shift from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. covering 42 subjects, and the afternoon shift from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. covering 41 subjects.
"The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct UGC–NET June 2024 for (i) 'award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor', (ii) 'appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D.' and (iii) 'admission to Ph.D. only' in 83 subjects in OMR (Pen and Paper) mode on 18th June 2024," the notification reads.
Detailed information regarding the examination city will be available 10 days before the exam date. "The notification regarding intimation of the City of Exam Centre will be displayed on NTA website(s) https://ugcnet.nta.ac.in and www.nta.ac.in, prior to 10 days of the exam," the NTA statement added.
The city intimation slip, an essential document for candidates, includes details such as the applicant's name, date of birth, registration number, and the subjects with their respective codes. After the city intimation slips are released, the NTA will also issue the admit cards.
To download the City Intimation Slip, candidates should first visit the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. On the homepage, candidates need to click on the "Advance Exam City Intimation" link. This will open a new window where candidates must enter their Application Number, Date of Birth, and the provided Security PIN. After entering the required details, they should click on the “Submit” button. The City exam intimation slip will then be displayed, which candidates should download and save for future reference.
The UGC NET June 2024 exam aims to award the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appoint assistant professors, and facilitate admissions to Ph.D. programs in Indian universities and colleges.

Exam Date and Pattern
The UGC NET June 2024 will be conducted in 181 test cities across India. The previous exam date of June 16 was postponed to avoid a clash with the UPSC Civil Services Exam. The UGC NET exam pattern includes two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2, both of which are objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with no negative marking. Paper 1 consists of 50 questions, and Paper 2 has 100 questions, with a total duration of three hours for both papers combined.
