Universal Business School Launches India’s 1st AI University
The Universal AI University, announced by Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairperson and CEO of Salesforce, and Bharat Puri, Managing Director of Pidilite Industries, is the first of its kind in India and will promote skill development in all fields through the use of technology.
The Universal Business School, India's first Green Business school, has unveiled India's first Artificial Intelligence University. Degree programmes in AI/ML, Liberal Arts and Humanities, Management, Design, Law, Sports and Exercise Sciences, Environmental Sciences, and International Diplomacy are expected to be offered at the new university.
This announcement is consistent with the Microsoft report titled 'The Class of 2030 and Life-Ready Learning: The Technology Imperative,' which suggests that by the time students graduate, they will need to have mastered two aspects of this new world- Understand how to use ever-changing technology, such as artificial intelligence, to their advantage. Understand how to effectively collaborate with others in a team to solve problems.
"As a management school, our students have always enjoyed excellent industry support with placements," says Tarun Anand, Chairman of Universal Business School and Universal AI University. This year's campus hosted 268 companies, including Xiaomi, Tata Capital, NSE, L&T Finance, and Wipro Ltd. The AI university strengthens our position as one of India's most innovative educational institutions and expands our corporate relationships."
Currently, engineering colleges such as IIT-Bombay and BITS Pilani, as well as management colleges such as ISB, IIM, and SP Jain, among others, offer a variety of courses in artificial intelligence. It is widely agreed that preparing students to work alongside AI in the future must begin as soon as possible.
"At Universal AI University, we do believe that the combination of young minds with an entrepreneurial mindset will foster innovative technological solutions to serve society and planet," Anand continues, "and that is the primary purpose of the AI University- to enable young minds to provide solutions across industries such as manufacturing, food, healthcare, and agriculture."
The new AI University will create 'labs' for students to learn and experiment with IR 4.0 technologies such as artificial intelligence, analytics, AR/VR/MR, IoT, and blockchain, which are enhancing industry digital transformation. The focus will be on skill development in the AI/ML and IoT space, which impacts all sectors, and will be launched by two of the biggest innovators in corporate India, Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairperson and CEO, Salesforce, and Bharat Puri, Managing Director, Pidilite Industries.
Universal AI University's legacy is based on the "made in India" success story of Universal Business School. Solar panels on campus generate up to 70% of the energy used. It is India's first business school to publish its own environmental, social, and governance (ESG) report, and it has demonstrated its commitment to a circular economy by converting campus garbage into "black gold." This is then composted for the campus' 40-acre trees.
