UP Free Laptop Yojana 2021: These Students Will Get Free Smartphones & Tablets

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has planned to distribute the free mobile phones & tablets to nearly 1 crore college students in its state. However, work on this plan is still going on.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has planned to distribute the free mobile phones & tablets to nearly 1 crore college students in its state. However, work on this plan is still going on. It is being said that the UP state government is planning to provide free tablets and smartphones to graduate & post-graduate students from technical, medical & nursing institutions. Also, it will distribute these devices only to those who are enrolled in the skill development program.  

CM Yogi Directed To Prepare List of Eligible Students

In a meeting, UP CM Yogi Adityanath was directed to prepare a list of eligible students so that the smartphones & tablets can be distributed to students by the end of November. According to the reports, Chief Secretary RK Tiwari said that the devices will help in empowering students digitally and create job opportunities for them.

He has been given the responsibility of preparing information of the registered students of their affiliated colleges to the universities of the state. Along with this, instructions have been given to send this information to the offices of the District Magistrates. This office will verify information at the district level under the orders of the Industrial Development Department & distribute smartphone-tablet.

This Can Prove To Be the Best Step of UP Government

Significantly, UP CM Yogi Adityanath had announced that his government would lay the foundation stone of government medical college in Sultanpur. While laying the foundation, it will distribute tablets & smartphones to youth. This step can prove to be the best initiative of the UP government. It is being taken to equip the students of Uttar Pradesh with the latest technology.

An announcement was made after the budget that was presented in the UP state assembly in August this year. In this budget, there was talk of making the youth digitally proficient and for this Rs 3,000 crore was earmarked for the purchase of smartphones & tablets. The government has already invited bids to buy 2.5 million smartphones & tablets. It is expected that more devices can be bought soon. 

Free Laptops To Meritorious Students

Apart from this, the UP government has also proposed to give free laptops to the meritorious students of class 10th & 12th. The state government is planning to give 20 lakh free laptops to its top students. These students are maybe those, who cannot afford to buy such devices.
