Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit 2023: Prime Minister Modi expressed satisfaction with Uttarakhand's progress and commemorated the successful rescue project at Silkiyara.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 'Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit 2023' at the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, today. The summit, themed 'Peace to Prosperity,' witnessed the unveiling of the Ground Breaking Wall, along with the launch of the book ‘Sashakt Uttarakhand’ and the brand ‘House of Himalayas.’

Dignitaries and industry leaders, including Pranav Adani, Director Adani Group; Sajjan Jindal, Chairman and Managing Director of JSW; Sanjiv Puri, Managing Director of ITC; Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, Founder of Patanjali; Kalyan Chakrabarti, CEO of Emaar India; and R Dinesh, Chairman of TVS Supply Chain Solutions, expressed their views during the summit.

Pranav Adani, in his address, commended Uttarakhand's attractiveness for private sector investment, citing the state's streamlined approach, competitive land prices, and stable law and order environment. He detailed the Adani Group's plans for expansion in the state, expressing gratitude for the continuous support from Prime Minister Modi.

Chairman and Managing Director of JSW, Sajjan Jindal, praised the Prime Minister's contributions to the development projects of Kedarnath and Badrinath. He emphasized the positive changes in GDP growth and lauded the government's focus on improving connectivity to pilgrimage sites.  Jindal announced plans for a significant investment in Uttarakhand, highlighting the 'Clean Kedarnath Project.'

Sanjiv Puri of ITC applauded the Prime Minister's global statesmanship and the purposeful policy initiatives that have positioned India favorably in the world. He acknowledged the country's transformation across various sectors and its emergence as a global player under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.

Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev praised the Prime Minister as the visionary of 'Viksit Bharat' and highlighted Patanjali's contributions to investments and employment opportunities. He assured future investments and job creation while urging corporate houses to establish units in Uttarakhand. Kalyan Chakrabarti of Emaar India thanked the Prime Minister for providing direction for the country's development. He highlighted the positive changes in the India-UAE relationship and the global outlook towards India, citing policy reforms like GST and the fintech revolution.

Chairman of TVS Supply Chain Solutions, R Dinesh, reiterated the company's commitment to the Prime Minister's visionary leadership. He detailed the organization's contributions to Uttarakhand's growth story and outlined plans for further investments in manufacturing and warehousing, creating thousands of jobs.

The Prime Minister encouraged investors to explore Uttarakhand's untapped potential, especially in tourism, health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure. He highlighted the state's emergence as a brand encompassing nature, culture, and heritage, urging investors to prioritize opportunities in Yoga, Ayurveda, Teertha, and adventure sports.

Acknowledging the power of India's middle class, Prime Minister Modi called for a focus on export-oriented manufacturing, strengthening local supply chains, and supporting MSMEs. He cautioned against reliance on imported goods, emphasizing the need for self-sufficiency in key sectors.

In conclusion, the Prime Minister commended the House of Himalayas brand, promoting local products globally, and urged investors to identify unique products and engage with women's self-help groups. He envisioned India as the third-largest economy globally, urging investors to participate in Uttarakhand's development journey.

The event was attended by Governor of Uttarakhand, Retd. Lt. Gen Gurmit Singh, and Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, among other dignitaries.
