Veterinary Medicine Faculty elected for Editorial Posts

For the editorial board of Indian Journal of Veterinary Medicine (IJVM), an official Journal of Indian Society for Veterinary Medicine (ISVM), Veterinary Medicine scientists of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University emerged victorious by securing about 85% of polled votes. Dr. Swaran Singh Randhawa has been elected as an Editor, Dr. Shukriti Sharma as an Associate Editor and Dr. D.K. Gupta as an Assistant Editor. The ISVM is the largest and one of the oldest societies of veterinary science, having more than 2500 members all over India. The society was established in the year 1981 and has been publishing the journal since then. The faculty of Veterinary Medicine is recognized throughout India and world.

It has specialisation in different fields such as mastitis, lameness, internal diseases, mineral imbalances,infectious disease diagnosis and control. The faculty members have won various international and national awards such as commonwealth award U.K., Australian Ambassador Award, DAAD Fellowships, Young scientist awards and best presentation awards by various professional societies.

The scientists of veterinary medicine have made major impact in development of disease diagnosis and treatment. In the history of ISVM, election for the post of editor, associate editor and assistant editor have been conducted many times, but such huge margin of victory is for the first in its history. Dr.  P.S. Brar, Dean, College of Veterinary Science congratulated the hard working team of veterinary medicine. He said that Vet. Medicine Department has a very dedicated team who attends more than 18000 clinical cases annually and has been serving the farmer community in a big way. Dr. S.K.Uppal, Dean Post Graduate Studies-cum-Head, Veterinary Medicine hoped that present editorial team will be able to improve the NAAS rating of the journal. Senior founder members of ISVM Dr. SNS Randhawa, Ex. Director of Research and Ex. President ISVM, Dr KB Singh, Ex. Director of Extension Education, Dr K Dua, Professor and Dr. BK Bansal, Director Livestock Farms expressed their best wishes to the newly elected members. The newly elected board has assured that they will try their best to uplift the reputation of the journal and escalate to its zenith.
