WEATHER ALERT: Cold Waves to grip North India including Delhi
Chilly northwesterly winds are blowing over north western part of India. The cold wave is likely to cover entire north, central and east India. The minimum temperatures in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and neighboring areas will be cooler than normal today in the night.

The minimum temperatures in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and neighboring areas will be cooler than normal today in the night. Northwesterly flow can also cause isolated thick fog in northern as well as central India. There is a possibility of ground frost in some places in these regions as the temperature may reach 3°C or below in the morning.
Meanwhile, a trough extending from south India to Telangana may bring light rainfall and thunderstorms. Scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected in Kerala and neighboring areas of Karnataka. Scattered rain is also likely over northeast Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha.
A cyclonic movement over eastern Bangladesh can cause scattered rain or even snow in northeast India. There is possibility of scattered rain or snow in Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh today.
Dry weather with mild breezes is predicted across northern, central, western and northeastern parts of the country.
Meanwhile, air quality remains poor or very poor in India, especially around major cities like Delhi and Kolkata. Winter in Delhi is likely to worsen as the temperature is all set to fall further. People are advised to get back home before night as the temperature will drop at that time.
IMD has warned that temperature in entire north India will drop further in the days to come.
