Weather Alert! Extremely Heavy Rainfall over These States Today; People Asked to Stay Indoors

The monsoon trough is south of its normal position, it is most likely to shift northwards gradually towards foothills of Himalayas from today, the 18th July onwards, says the weather department in its morning reports. Moreover, the weather department has issued fairly widespread to widespread rainfall alert over Northwest India during 18th - 20th July, 2020 and over Northeast & adjoining East India during 18th -22nd July.

Moreover, the weather department has issued fairly widespread to widespread rainfall alert over Northwest India during 18th - 20th July, 2020 and over Northeast & adjoining East India during 18th -22nd July.

Toll reaches 76 with five more deaths in Assam Flood

Situation is going out of hand in Assam where flood has created a total havoc situation along with corona pandemic. As per the recent reports, the death toll rises to 76 with 5 new deaths and effected 36 lakh people across 30 districts of Assam.

Heavy Rain over These Places in Next 24 Hours

Due to above favourable meteorological conditions, rainfall distribution & intensity is very likely to increase over the northern parts of the country. Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls is very likely
over Northwest India during 18th - 20th July, 2020 and over Northeast & adjoining East India during 18th -22nd July. Isolated Extremely heavy fall also very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Assam & Meghalaya during 19th- 22nd
July and over Arunachal Pradesh during 19th-20th July.

Intense thunderstorm & lightning potential zone:

Moderate to severe thunderstorm & lightning very likely over Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, West Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, North Rajasthan and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Sub- Himalayan West Bengal during next 12 hours.

Maximum & Minimum Temperature in India

Maximum temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over West Rajasthan while temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Uttarakhand.
