Weather Alert!!!! Heavy Rainfall, Thundershowers in All These States as Monsoon Nears in Kerala; Other Parts to Remain Dry & Hot
Beginning with Southern India, where everyone is eagerly waiting for the onset of Southwest Monsoon, a Cyclonic Circulation has developed over Lakshadweep Area. In addition, a trough is also expanding from East Uttar Pradesh to Kerala across interior Karnataka.

In addition, a trough is also expanding from East Uttar Pradesh to Kerala across interior Karnataka. Due to these weather systems, there will be fairly widespread rainfall along with thundershower s in Kerala, Lakshadweep and Karnataka. And this could lead to beginning of Monsoon anytime now.
Also there can be scattered rainfall over Rayalaseema and isolated rains in Interior Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Moderate rains could also occur over Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Coming towards North or say Northwest India, rains will almost diminish in Jammu-Kashmir & Himachal Pradesh. Climate will be arid with only light rainfall at one or two places. Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh will also experience dry weather conditions. Meanwhile, severe heat wave conditions are likely to continue in North Rajasthan. Also, isolated places in Haryana, Punjab and Delhi might undergo heat wave conditions as the temperatures in Northern Plains are expected to increase slowly.
Talking about East & Northeast India, there is a Cyclonic Circulation over Bangladesh and its neighboring areas. Moderate winds coming from the Bay of Bengal are giving moisture to the Northeastern states of India. As a result, there can be light to moderate rainfall with one or two heavy spells over Meghalaya, Tripura and West Assam. Scattered rains and thundershower may also occur over remaining parts of Northeast India & West Bengal.
Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal could also witness short spells of intense rains in afternoon & evening. Jharkhand may also get to see isolated rainfall. Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh will, however, stay dry.
Last but not the least Central India may experience severe heat wave conditions especially in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh & Vidarbha. Because of a North-South trough, scattered rainfall is possible over Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa, South Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Isolated rain is likely over Marathwada. Weather in Gujarat will remain dry & hot.
