Weather Alert! These States Likely to Get Very Heavy Rainfall in the Next 3-4 Days
Widespread rainfall with scattered heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy falls likely over Konkan & Goa during 3rd to 5th Aug(over Mumbai, heavy to very heavy rainfall on 3rd August and with isolated extremely heavy falls on 4th & 5th August), Madhya Maharashtra including the ghat areas during 04th & 5th August.
Although heavy rain has created havoc situation in many states, but in some regions kharif Sowing are gearing up with full swing due to favourable weather conditions. According to the weather department reports, a low- pressure Area is likely to form over north Bay of Bengal around 04th august 2020.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level is presently at normal position and likely to shift southwards and strengthen during next 3-4 days.
As a consequence of these meteorological features, south-westerly monsoon flow is likely to strengthen over Arabian sea and along the west-coast due to increase in north-south pressure gradient and strengthening of winds.

Bihar and Assam, both of which, like other states, are battling the coronavirus pandemic outbreak, are also currently dealing with devastating floods. While the Kosi has wreaked havoc in Bihar, the Brahmaputra is doing the same in Assam.
These States Likely to Get Heavy Rain Today
Under the above favourable scenario, Monsoon will enter to active phase over the Central and Peninsular India from 4th August onwards for subsequent 3-4 days.

Heavy to very heavy falls also very likely at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and at isolated places over Kerala and Marathwada during 03rd to 05th August.
Widespread rainfall with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places with isolated extremely heavy falls likely over coastal districts of Gujarat region on 5th Aug and over Gujarat state 6th August.
Moderate to severe thunderstorm accompanied with lightning at isolated places very likely over East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Bihar and Gangetic West Bengal during next 12 hours.
Maximum & Minimum Temperature
Maximum temperatures are appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at most places over Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh; at many places over Gujarat region,, Chhattisgarh and Odisha while Minimum temperatures are appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Rajasthan; at isolated places over Gujarat State; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C).
