Weather Department Issues Alert in These States; Heavy Rainfall, Thunderstorm to Continue for Next 2-3 Days

Weather in North India: a Western Disturbance over the northern parts of Jammu & Kashmir is progressing North-eastwards. In addition, the western end of Axis of Monsoon Trough is passing through Northern parts of Rajasthan to central parts of the country. As a result, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand will witness good rainfall at isolated places. According to IMD, Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand will receive heavy rainfall for the next two days. It has also issued alert at some places.

Weather in North India: a Western Disturbance over the northern parts of Jammu & Kashmir is progressing North-eastwards. In addition, the western end of Axis of Monsoon Trough is passing through Northern parts of Rajasthan to central parts of the country. As a result, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand will witness good rainfall at isolated places. According to IMD, Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand will receive heavy rainfall for the next two days. It has also issued alert at some places.

Meanwhile weather in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and West Rajasthan would remain dry and warm.

In East & Northeast India: here a Cyclonic Circulation is lying over Northwest Bay of Bengal. Therefore, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha are likely to experience light to moderate showers. Uttar Pradesh and Bihar could also get rains at isolated places. On the other hand, Northeast states may remain dry & warm because of lack of moisture content. Kolkata will also remain humid. Few spells of showers can be witnessed over here.

Rain in Central India: a Cyclonic Circulation is lying over central parts of Madhya Pradesh. Hence, moderate to heavy rainfall are possible over West Madhya Pradesh, East Gujarat & North Maharashtra. Other parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha & Gujarat will witness moderate rainfall along with thundershowers. Weather in Mumbai will remain warm & humid. Sky will be cloudy and there can be chances of light showers.

In Southern part of India, due to a Cyclonic Circulation over North Bay of Bengal, there will be light rainfall & thundershowers over northern parts of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. On the other hand, southern parts of both the states will stay dry and warm.

Meanwhile, there can be moderate to heavy showers at few places over Coastal Karnataka & Kerala. South Interior Karnataka will witness light rainfall at isolated places while North Interior Karnataka, Marathwada, Rayalaseema & Tamil Nadu will remain dry and humid. Chennai city will also remain very dry and warm. Bengaluru though will remain moist but there are chances of light rainfall.

Monsoon in August is performing quite good as compared to previous years, giving relief to people in India. Many states so far have received sufficient rainfall.
