Weather Department Issues Heavy Rain Alert for These States till August 9
Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on 7th August said fairly widespread to heavy rains is likely to occur over Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha & Bihar in the next five days. IMD also said that widespread rainfall is likely over Madhya Pradesh in the next 5 days.

Weather in Northeastern States
For the northeastern states, IMD has predicted fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls till 9th August and enhanced activity of rainfall from 10th August.
IMD says isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Assam & Meghalaya in the next 5 days over Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura & Mizoram on 6th and Arunachal Pradesh on 8th & 9th August 2021.
Weather in North India
Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall is expected over West Uttar Pradesh & Uttarakhand in the next 5 days along with heavy rainfall in these areas during the same period. Further, IMD said subdued rainfall is likely to continue till 10th August except over the northern parts of Uttar Pradesh & Uttarakhand where rainfall is likely to sustain.
There will be reduced rainfall activity over the Peninsular India and the adjoining east Central India (except Odisha), Maharashtra & Gujarat in the coming days.
States to receive below Normal Rainfall
In its forecasts for the second half of the four-month monsoon season, IMD said that west Madhya Pradesh & adjoining Rajasthan, and some parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Punjab, Ladakh an Himachal Pradesh are likely to receive below normal rainfall in the month of August.
States to receive above Normal Rainfall
Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh, Konkan & Goa, central Maharashtra, northeastern states, south Gujarat & Bihar are likely to receive above normal rainfall during the month of August.
